Circular Economy

Dear Readers,

how much of the waste produced in industry and private households every day is really returned to the raw-material cycle? What would you estimate? Considering that the term “circular economy” shows up quite often, it has not yet arrived where we probably expected it to be. According to the study „The Circularity Gap“, 9,1% of the resources used worldwide are being reused. However, the regional distribution varies widely – the EU intends to allow a maximum of 10 % of municipal waste for landfill by 2035.
