URRACO EVO series comes to market

Lindner launches new mobile product line

Urraco Evo is Lindner’s new future-oriented series of mobile two-shaft shredders. New to the market, this series scores highly with even more power, a speedier fast-exchange function and the well-known shaft versatility. Whether the assignment is pre-shredding or reducing volume, the focus goes beyond wood, plastics, domestic and commercial waste to include heavy-duty applications such as scrap metal, mixed scrap and aluminium.

As a recycling pioneer, the circular economy has been part of Lindner’s DNA for more than 75 years. The Carinthian family-owned business, now in its fourth generation, develops and produces technologies and engineered solutions for the global market to transform waste into reusable materials. Exclusively manufactured in Austria – at sites in Spittal/Drau and Feistritz/Drau – its shredders use selected high-quality European components.

Lindner has been producing mobile shredders since 2012. These shredders offer the flexibility of not being fixed to a location and truly excel in their versatile application options. The launch of the new Urraco Evo series sets ground-breaking standards. “We have responded to the changing market requirements – away from a primary segment of light materials and towards more robust and difficult applications. The new product line meets customer requirements in every respect, combining our proven robust construction with new functions and features – in one Urraco series,” explains Gerhard Gamper, Segment Director Mobile Shredding.

Robustness meets quality

The newly launched Urraco Evo series in its latest design combines proven Lindner technology with a multitude of new features. Modular design, robust construction, quality and precision manufacture – Lindner has focused more on automation and robotics while ensuring efficient processes and maintaining the high quality of the core components. “When designing the Evo series we asked ourselves two questions: Which features have proven most valuable over the decades? And which features could we use to better support our customers?,” says Andreas Klapf, Head of Engineering at Lindner. “We have also further automated the manufacture of our cutting unit and shafts. Through the targeted use of this technology we are able to increase our competitive edge in terms of robustness, stability and reliability – and even successfully use the Urraco Evo for applications such as mixed scrap metal and aluminium.”

Exceptionally easy to service

Customers can also expect even more in future when it comes to maintenance and ease of servicing. „The new fast-exchange system (FX) combined with Lindner’s Skyflap means that customers can change the entire cutting system in less than two hours,” says Thomas Huber, Product Manager. “This helps achieve highly efficient maintenance and short shutdown periods, which has a positive impact on operating expenses and reduces costs by minimising downtime.”

Powerful and versatile

Thanks to the hydrostatic drive system and extensive shaft configurations, the Urraco Evo series provides maximum flexibility regarding the input materials. These range from waste wood, residential, commercial and industrial waste to plastics, metal and aluminium waste. “Whether the task is pre-shredding or reducing volume, the models in the Urraco Evo series can be used universally. Our performance tests with customers have confirmed the material diversity these models can handle and has shown that even difficult materials such as mixed waste can be shredded without any issue. The feedback from our customers is very positive,” says Huber.

Lindner Mobile Days – growing together

As part of Lindner’s Mobile Days at the start of September, the Urraco Evo series was presented to international partners, who were enthusiastic about the new product line. “For me, the biggest advantage is the ease of maintenance, especially when it comes to replacing the shafts. This is important for our customers. With this type of machine, we are making a significant contribution to reducing landfill and converting it into recyclable material,” says Masashi Inane, Ryohshin – Lindner’s sales partner in Japan.

“The Urraco Evo 95 is so powerful that it can even tear up wind turbine blades. In the US, there is a specific need for this kind of machine, because there is no other way to shred this material,” explains Tosh Brinkerhoff, Rotochopper, Lindner's sales partner in the USA. “When it comes to repair and maintenance, the new Urraco Evo saves time and money. The main focus of my North-American customers is scrap metal recycling – an application that involves high wear and tear on the machine. For these customers in particular, the innovative fast-exchange system together with the Skyflap offers huge advantages,” says Jake Dennis, Lindner USA. “We are very pleased that we can now present this concept to the market – the design engineers have done an excellent job. Our customers will be thrilled with how robust and reliable the Urraco Evo series is,” summarizes Taco van Diggelen, Van der Spek, Lindner's sales partner in the Netherlands.
