Liebherr presented a wide range of innovations at Pollutec 2025
10.10.2025From October 7 to 10, Liebherr presented at Pollutec 2025 in Lyon a selection of machines and technologies that reflect its commitment to more environmentally responsible construction practices. Located at the entrance of Hall 3 – dedicated to recycling and material reuse – Liebherr’s booth (Aisle E, Stand 108) welcomed visitors with several major innovations in earthmoving, material handling and mobile energy supply.

At its booth, Liebherr presented the LH 18 M Industry, its most compact material handling machine. Powered by a 105 kW engine compliant with EU Stage V standards, this model features Liebherr’s proprietary SCRT technology, which combines an oxidation catalyst, particulate filter, and SCR system to ensure optimal emission reduction. Built for durability, the LH 18 M Industry boasts a 2.55 m wide chassis that provides excellent stability, further reinforced by front and rear stabilizers. Its high-performance hydraulic system, paired with a 5.20 m straight boom and a 3.70 m stick, delivers precise control for sorting and handling tasks. To demonstrate its capabilities, the machine is equipped with a SG 20B sorting grapple, ideal for managing diverse material flows. Features such as a reversible fan and enhanced filtration system contribute to high machine availability while optimising energy consumption.

Liebherr wheel loaders: electrification and performance for recycling applications
This year, Liebherr also highlighted two wheel loader models that reflect its commitment to innovation and sustainability. On display at the booth was the L 507 E, the first battery-electric wheel loader in Liebherr’s portfolio. This compact model combines the proven performance of Liebherr’s stereo loaders with an in-house developed electric drive system. Launched in October 2023 across several European markets, the L 507 E marks a significant milestone in the Group’s energy transition strategy. Outdoors, Liebherr also presented the L 538, a mid-range wheel loader designed for demanding environments such as recycling centers. Its robust lift arm ensures powerful breakout and holding forces, while intelligent assistant systems enhance both safety and operational efficiency.

Liduro Power Port: smart, mobile energy for modern construction sites
At Pollutec 2025, Liebherr will present the Liduro Power Port (LPO), an advanced energy storage system designed to meet the growing demand for on-site power in today’s construction environments. Compact yet powerful, the LPO enables the operation and local charging of hybrid and fully electric machines – with zero direct emissions. Thanks to its high energy density and ability to handle peak loads, the LPO offers a high-performance alternative to traditional diesel generators. Presented in its LPO 100 version, the system delivers a gross capacity ranging from 50 to 150 kWh and peak outputs of up to 150 kVA, making it ideal for powering equipment such as the L 507 E wheel loader, cranes, and other mobile machinery. The LPO can operate as a supplement to an existing grid or as a fully autonomous power source, ensuring stable energy supply even in off-grid conditions.

The crawler loader LR 636 G8 and the telescopic handler T 48-8s
A centrepiece of the exhibition has been the LR 636 G8 crawler loader, representing the Generation 8 of Liebherr crawler loaders in the 21-tonne class. Powered by a 135 kW / 184 hp Liebherr diesel engine compliant with EU Stage V standards, the LR 636 G8 combines fuel efficiency with reduced emissions. Its hydrostatic travel drive ensures smooth power delivery and allows the machine to turn on the spot, making it exceptionally agile in confined recycling yards.
The T 48-8s telescopic handler is specifically designed for loading, stacking and recycling materials

Also on display has been the Liebherr T 48-8s telescopic handler, designed for heavy-duty industrial and recycling tasks. With a maximum lift capacity of 4.8 t and a reach height of 8 m, the T 48-8s combines strength and precision for loading, stacking, and transporting materials. Its continuously variable hydrostatic travel drive enables seamless transitions between forward and reverse movements, reducing wear and fuel consumption in stop-and-go operations that are common in recycling yards.
