Using ballistics-based separation, the Shred1 efficiently sorts iron-rich ferrous materials from mixed metals after the drum magnet stage, resulting in two high-value fractions:
- Premium Low-Copper Ferrous Product – With copper content below 0.2 %, this fraction exceeds current market requirements and commands higher prices.
- Traditional #2 Shred – A mixed metal fraction, ready for further processing or recycling.
By incorporating the Shred1 Ballistic Separator, scrap processors can significantly reduce copper contamination, meet the rising demand from steel mills for low-copper shred, and eliminate manual sorting – thereby reducing labour costs and increasing operational efficiency.
