The new recycling plant can process up to 120 fridges containing CFC and VHC per hour. The heart of the line is an innovative ADuro QZ shredder, a completely sealed systems, which quickly and safely separates the fridges into their individual components by using the effects of impact forces. A subsequent matrix degassing unit extracts the gas from the insulating foam. With this gentle and environmentally friendly method of processing, ANDRITZ recycling plants for refrigerators comply with highest European environmental standards. Valuable fractions such as iron, copper, aluminum, plastics and polyurethane foam are made available for reuse.

Ruth Carpallo Sánchez, Engineering Manager at Derichebourg España, says: “At Derichebourg España we aim to recycle and reuse as much material as possible while operating our facilities with maximum efficiency, lowest environmental impact and high safety standards. The fridge recycling plant from ANDRITZ precisely meets these requirements. It is good to have an experienced and reliable partner like ANDRITZ at our side both in project execution and for future support.”

In addition to the shredding system, ANDRITZ also supplied the equipment for feeding the fridges to the shredder, including the safety technology, and the conveyor technology for discharging and transporting the processed material to subsequent process steps.

Derichebourg España is a group of companies with more than 50 years of experience in waste management and recycling. It specializes in the treatment of end-of-life consumer products as well as comprehensive industrial waste management and recovery of scrap.
