Utirom was founded in 2016 by George Geadau, who, originally from a trucking background, spotted a gap in the market to deliver a highly responsive equipment dealership with service levels more akin to the trucking industry. The company has since developed into a major equipment distributor in Romania, impressively delivering market share improvements for the original equipment manufacturers (OEM) they represent. A young and ambitious company with a customer first approach to business, Utirom has garnered a reputation for service and product availability and has significantly grown their market share in a short space of time.  Having wanted to add a leading recycling and environmental brand to their portfolio, Utirom researched various OEMs, and felt Terex Ecotec was the right fit – both being young, growing companies making an impact within their respective industries.

George Geadau General Manager, Utirom explained: “Utirom Invest is very excited and proud to be chosen as the official distribution partner for Terex Ecotec in Romania. Through this collaboration we will support the distribution of the brand’s world-class products in our country and provide our customers outstanding quality. The addition of Terex Ecotec’s range of equipment will support our goal in becoming an essential piece of the recycling industry puzzle. We are confident that we will make waste work together, through innovation and efficiency.”

Thomas Coulter, Regional Sales Manager for Terex Ecotec said: “Romania has historically been a static market, but we are witnessing a move towards mobile machinery especially from SRF and RDF markets which have grown, and now that we have Utirom in place, we are already seeing an increase in enquiries. Utirom has a very good reputation for service and repair and this, along with their willingness to go in the direction where the market is, will ensure we have a strong representation in this growing market.”
