The TANA Multi Waste Buckets bring pre-shredding directly to the loading stage, combining shredding and bag opening in one step without a separate shredder. By reducing bulky or unsorted materials into smaller pieces, they improve the feed to downstream sorting, screening, recycling, and energy recovery supporting safer, smoother, and more efficient operations.

“Pre-shredding is the critical first step in turning waste into value. With the TANA Multi Waste Buckets, we are bringing that step directly into the loading phase making the process simpler, more flexible, and significantly more cost-efficient for our customers,” says Eetu Tuovinen, Product Marketing Manager, Shredders, Tana Oy.

Compared with a stand-alone pre-shredder, the TANA Multi Waste Buckets can deliver clear operating cost savings by reducing the number of machines on site and eliminating the need to power, maintain, and feed a separate shredder. With pre-shredding integrated into the loader attachment, customers typically benefit from lower fuel and service consumption, fewer wear parts to manage, and less unplanned downtime while also cutting internal material movements and handling steps that add cost and complexity.

Designed to integrate seamlessly into existing operations, the TANA MWB features plug-and-play installation with no additional drain line and fast setup on a wide range of wheel loaders and material handlers. This lets operators’ pre-shred exactly where needed and reduces extra material handling.

Pre-shredding at the loading stage can increase throughput, improve material recovery, and reduce wear on secondary processing equipment while enhancing safety by limiting manual handling. The buckets produce a consistent particle size of approximately 300 to 400 mm and process up to 90 m³/h to optimize feed for downstream processes.

Field experience has shown that integrating pre-shredding into the loading phase can streamline site operations. “Customers have seen immediate benefits in terms of reduced transport needs, smoother material flow, and less downtime in downstream equipment. The ability to pre-process waste on the spot changes how efficiently the whole site can operate,” says Tuovinen.

The robust three-axle design of the TANA MWB ensures efficient shredding and continuous material flow. A faster middle axle combined with higher torque on the upper and lower axles creates an effective cutting pattern that reduces material wrapping and maximizes throughput. The patented bearing protection, axe-shaped blades, and self-cleaning structure further enhance reliability, durability, and ease of maintenance, allowing operators to minimize downtime and extend component lifetime.

The two models share the same proven design and performance, with the only difference being bucket size to match different wheel loader classes and capacity requirements. MWB17 is suited for 10 to 15-ton loaders, while MWB23 targets 13 to 20-ton machines, ensuring optimal performance across different operational scales.

With durable, serviceable components and the option to replace or complement traditional pre-shredders, the TANA Multi Waste Buckets offer a practical first step toward more efficient, profitable, and sustainable waste processing.
