“Lars is a proven global leader with a strong track record of driving growth, building high-performing teams, and delivering customer-focused innovation,” said Jacob Thomas, CEO of Grain & Protein Technologies (GPT). “His international experience, strategic mindset, and passion for operational success make him the right leader to guide Cimbria through its next chapter of growth and strengthen its position as a leading global brand.”

Thomas added, “Cimbria plays a critical role in GPT’s long-term growth strategy. We are committed to investing in the business, expanding our global reach, and delivering even greater value to customers worldwide. Lars’ leadership will help accelerate that vision while building on Cimbria’s strong heritage and reputation for excellence.”

Dithmer brings nearly two decades of international leadership experience from Alfa Laval, where he most recently served as President of the Food Systems Business Unit. His career has taken him across Europe and Asia, including several years in India as Managing Director. He has led large organizations through transformation delivering strong commercial results, and worked at the intersection of strategy, operations, business development, and acquisitions.

“Cimbria has a remarkable legacy and global footprint,” explained Dithmer. “The company has deep expertise, strong customer relationships and a portfolio that truly stands out. I am excited to help elevate Cimbria’s visibility and strengthen its position in the markets where we can make the biggest impact.”

Cimbria’s equipment is used by global seed producers, grain handlers, food and coffee processors, and industrial companies to protect the value, quality, and integrity of their products. With a portfolio that includes cleaning and treating machines, material handling, dryers, optical sorters, and complete turnkey solutions, the company is recognized for delivering reliability, efficiency, and consistently high performance.

Dithmer sees significant opportunity to build on this foundation, particularly in regions where demand for Cimbria’s advanced solutions and service offerings continues to rise. “Europe remains a core region for us, and we see strong opportunities to deepen our presence and expand our partnerships,” he said. “North America is another important market where Cimbria’s technology and expertise can create real value. Markets such as Brazil, which is one of the world’s most influential agricultural hubs, represent exciting long‑term potential for us. We will leverage the strong footprint that GPT already has in these markets.”

Dithmer also highlighted the growing importance of investing in automation and smart features in seed processing to simplify the work of operators and elevate overall plant performance, especially as regulatory expectations around purity, safety and traceability continue to evolve. As he looks ahead, Dithmer is clear that Cimbria’s future success will be defined by the value it delivers to customers. “Our customers must always come first. Everything we do must strengthen their ability to run efficient, predictable, and high-performing operations,” he explained, concluding: “Cimbria has such a strong foundation, and I am committed to ensuring that every customer feels that strength behind them. That’s what I want us to build. I am delighted to lead the next chapter of Cimbria’s success.”
