With over 70 years of experience, CHM is one of Yorkshire’s leading family-owned waste management companies, renowned for delivering comprehensive "zero waste to landfill" solutions. Their Doncaster facility, licensed to process up to 25 000 t of mixed waste annually, demands robust and reliable equipment, a need that has been reliably met by purpose-built waste handlers from Terex Ecotec.
CHM purchased the first-ever Terex Ecotec TWH 220 sold in the UK almost a decade ago. That initial investment has since evolved into a fleet of four machines, reinforcing their confidence in the product and trust in their relationship with Terex Ecotec.
“When we trialled several machines back in the day, the TWH 220 stood out for its operator comfort and performance,” said Guy Middleton, Technical Waste Director at CHM. “It’s been a workhorse ever since. The build quality is exceptional, and the support has been really appreciated by our team. Investing in another was a no-brainer. We were also pleased that the latest model features a Stage V engine that delivers smooth power, excellent fuel economy, and low emissions, all factors that align with our reputation for being a green and sustainability focused operator.”
The Terex Ecotec TWH 220 is engineered to meet the rigorous demands of modern waste handling. With a 10.4-m reach and a 21-t operating weight, it delivers exceptional visibility, control, and manoeuvrability. Its design incorporates double-edged cylinder bearings throughout the boom for durability, a high-performance cooling system with separated radiators for optimal thermal management, and an ergonomic operator cabin featuring an air-cushioned seat, adjustable joysticks, and integrated climate control for maximum comfort and efficiency.
“We’re honoured that the TWH 220 continues to play such an integral role in the success of C H Middleton’s operations,” said Thomas Coulter, Global Sales Director, Terex Ecotec. “Their commitment to sustainable waste management is truly impressive, and we’re proud to support that mission with equipment that delivers the strength, reliability, and efficiency they depend on every single day. Our long-standing relationship has been key in delivering the service and support that customers like CHM deserve.”
