Back after 4 years

Dear readers,

After two years of constantly new, pandemic-related challenges, IFAT, the world‘s leading trade fair for environmental technologies, is now taking place again in Munich at the end of May/beginning of June. Here, the focus is on solutions for water, wastewater, waste and raw materials management. After a 4-year break the companies naturally have many new developments and updates to present at the trade fair. And of course, digitalization is not bypassing the waste management industry. Some companies have even designed completely independent exhibition stands for their digital developments, be curious! A multicolored topic field expects the visitors, one did not meet nevertheless for a long time in so large framework – also that is a bit again a novelty and the anticipation on it surely largely. Finally visiting booths again, talking about problems face to face, being able to touch everything – yes, and perhaps also exchanging one or two private words again. And so it is not surprising that this recovery is largely devoted to IFAT. You will certainly have noticed when you pick up the magazine that it has become an extremely thick issue. There would be no other way to accommodate the many submissions and topics relating to IFAT.

But we would also like to take this opportunity to point out another highlight at the end of June. RECYCLING-TECHNIK and SOLIDS will be held in Dortmund from June 22 to 23. Especially these rather local trade fairs with many smaller, clearly arranged booths offer many different points of contact for visitors who want to find out about the latest trends for recycling residual materials or handling bulk materials. Cafés and small restaurants invite visitors to make contacts as well as to cultivate long-standing business relationships. For this purpose, too, recovery provides an outlook starting on p. 82.

We, the recovery team, will be very pleased to meet you, dear readers, in person again after a long time and hope to see you again soon in Munich or Dortmund!
